Sam Dworkin

As the school year kicks off, the Trinity Tigers will look to two returning seniors for leadership into a new season, one of which is Sam Dworkin.  Sam comes to Trinity all the way from Portland, OR, where he graduated from Lincoln High School.  He is often described by the coaching staff as “hard-working” and the “ideal teammate.”  Whether it is spending countless hours working on his jump-shot or doing extra conditioning drills, Sam can always be found in the gym year around.  Although his minutes were limited in his first two years at Trinity, his daily energy and passion consistently made his teammates better during practice.  During conference play last season, Sam made the most of his opportunities and had a breakout performance against Hendrix College, scoring 17 points on 7-8 shooting.  From then on, he was a key contributor in the rotation for a Trinity team that finished the season winning 8 of their last 10 games.  Trinity Basketball will rely heavily on Sam’s work-ethic to set the tone once the 2010-11 season begins.

“Why did you choose to come to Trinity?” - I came to Trinity because I wanted to get out of my home state and experience new things in a new area of the country; [Trinity] is well respected and I had the opportunity to play at the college level here.

“What is your favorite memory in a Tiger uniform?” – My favorite memory would be either my 17 point outburst against Hendrix, or when Terrence [Blakeley] had all those steals to seal the overtime victory against Birmingham Southern.  Overall hard to pick one just the experience of being part of this team has been one of if not the best part of my Trinity experience.
