Trinity Men Win Third Straight Game

San Antonio -- The Trinity Tigers men won their third game in a row with a 65-51 victory over the Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolves Wednesday night in Sams Gym.
 
Trinity (3-6) limited Nebraska Wesleyan to an opponent's season-low in points. The Prairie Wolves dropped to 5-6.
 
Tiger senior forward Luke Caldarera (Houston/Katy Taylor) led the team with 18 points (8-17 shooting), and seven rebounds. He also accounted for three assists and two steals.
 
First-year forward Zach Lambert (Frisco, Texas/Centennial) added 13 points, hitting 6-10 from the field, and recording Trinity's two blocked shots in the game.
 
Matt Feldman (Honolulu/Punahou), a first-year guard, scored nine points, going 3-3 beyond the arc, and making two steals. First-year forward Jonathan Wilt (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton) contributed eight points and six rebounds. Junior guard Ryan Beall (Santa Barbara, Calif./Dos Pueblos) led the game with five assists, and also scored five points.
 
The Tigers started the game slowly, as Nebraska Wesleyan led 15-7 with 11:28 remaining in the first half. But Trinity held the Prairie Wolves to four points after that mark, and led 31-19 at the intermission.
 
Nebraska Wesleyan pulled to within seven points early in the second half, but the Tigers held as much as a 20-point lead, 60-40 (6:37) on a 3-pointer by Lambert.
 
Jonah Bradley led Nebraska Wesleyan with 18 points, and a game-best nine rebounds.
 
Trinity shot 40 percent (26-65) from the field, and fired in 6-10 (60 percent) from 3-point range. Nebraska Wesleyan hit 36.5 percent (19-52) from the field, and was limited to 29.2 percent (7-24) in 3-pointers. Trinity forced 20 turnovers, while committing 13. Nebraska Wesleyan held a 38-36 edge in rebounding.
 
The Tigers resume their SCAC schedule Friday against Colorado College in Colorado Springs; and travel to Sherman, Texas, Sunday to meet Austin College. Trinity (0-1 SCAC) returns home to host Millsaps in a conference game Friday, Jan. 7.
