Robert Kitzinger Named SCAC Player of the Week
San Antonio - Trinity University Tigers first-year forward Robert Kitzinger (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) has been selected as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
Kitzinger paced the Tigers as they captured their first two wins of the season, beating Albion and Hardin-Simmons at the Southwestern/Trinity Classic in Georgetown, Texas.
The 6-foot-7, 175-pound Kitzinger averaged 16.5 points per game last weekend, shot 61.1 percent (11-18) from the field, and hit 57.1 percent (8-14) in 3-point range. Against Albion, Kitzinger scored 16 of his 19 points in the second half as the Tigers erased a 10-point deficit.
Kitzinger is averaging 10.0 points per game for the season, and is shooting 40.6 percent (28-69) from the field. He has sunk 66.7 percent (8-12) from the free throw line, and leads the Tigers in 3-point field goals made, with 16 (16-18, 37.2 percent).
Trinity (2-6) returns home to host Nebraska Wesleyan at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, in Sams Gym.
