Trinity's Luke Caldarera Named SCAC Player of the Week

San Antonio - Senior forward Luke Caldarera of Houston, Texas (Taylor HS), has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week, after leading the Tigers to two SCAC wins last weekend.

Caldarera led Trinity to SCAC home wins over Millsaps and Hendrix on Friday and Saturday nights, vaulting the Tigers into a tie for second place in the division standings. 

Caldarera led the team in scoring and rebounding in both games, averaging 19.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game in the two victories.  He also dished out six assists and grabbed four steals.

He shot 15-28 (53.6%) from the field, hitting 2-4 (50%) of his three-point shots.  Caldarera also knocked down 7-11 (63.6%) from the free throw line.

For the season, Caldarera is averaging 13.5 points/game and 6.4 rebounds/game to lead the Tigers in both categories.  He is currently third on the team with 22 assists, and is shooting 46% (74-161) from the field and 33% (6-18) from long range.
