Craig McConnell has been the men's head coach since 2010.
In his first year as assistant coach, he guided the Tiger men to an especially good season, as they were ranked No. 20 by the Golf World/Nike Division III Coaches’ Poll. Trinity also won two tournament team titles, the Alamo City Classic (hosted by Trinity) and the ConCan Intercollegiate Classic.
Jonathan Alden won individual honors at both the John Bohmann Memorial and ConCan Intercollegiate. Ryan Barry took the Alamo City Classic medalist honors. Trinity finished fifth at the SCAC Championships, and Alden earned All-SCAC honors for the fourth straight year.
Coach McConnell is a former Trinity team captain and four-year letter winner. He earned All-SCAC honors in 2005 and 2007. He was a key member of Trinity’s 2005 SCAC Championship team.
He was named to the National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team in 2006, and also received SCAC Academic Honor Roll distinction in 2004, 2005 and 2007.
Coach McConnell graduated with honors from Trinity in 2007, with a B.A. in business administration. He was a member of Trinity’s Dean’s List, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and was a President’s Scholarship recipient.
He continued his education at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, where he earned a graduate degree in kinesiology. Coach McConnell was a volunteer assistant golf coach at Lamar University, where he participated in recruiting and team administration. He also worked as an assistant at the Beaumont Country Club.
In addition, coach McConnell is a Titleist Performance Institute Certified Level 2 Golf Instructor.
A native of Beaumont, Texas, coach McConnell is a graduate of Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School where he earned All-State golf honors.
