San Antonio - Tiger men's golfer Dawson Dally has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week after his performance at the UMHB Fall Invitational.
Dally led Trinity to a first-place finish at the two-day event, which was hosted by the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (TX) at Stonetree Golf Club, in Killeen, Texas. Dally took top individual honors as well, shooting a two-round total of 144 and winning the tournament by two strokes.
The Tiger first-year shot a 2-under-par 70 in Monday's first round, which put him in a tie with three other players for the lead. Trinity trailed Texas Lutheran University by two strokes after the opening day of action.
Dally followed that score up with a 74 to stay ahead of the field on Tuesday, as he rallied the Tigers to a nine-stroke team victory as well. Dally is the first Trinity golfer to win an individual title since Kalen Vos won the West Region Invitational in April 2013.
Trinity returns to action October 16-17 with its lone home event of the school year, hosting the Alamo City Classic at the Quarry Golf Club.
