Men's Golf Finishes Second at Alamo City Classic
Spring Branch, Texas - The Trinity Tiger men's golf team finished second at their Alamo City Classic at River Crossing Golf Club on Tuesday.
Trinity shot a final-round 295 for a 582 total at the par-72, 6,838-yard River Crossing course. Texas-Tyler, which registered a 296 Tuesday, won the two-round event, by three strokes, at 579.
Tiger golfer Geoffrey Setiawan shot 2-over 74 and was the individual second-place finisher, with a 2-under 142. Setiawan was the first round leader, shooting 4-under 68 on Monday. Jacob Walsh of Texas-Tyler captured the tournament title, with a final-round par-72, and 3-under 141.
The Tiger team finished ahead of Southwestern (590), Schreiner (596), Texas Lutheran (606), Concordia (621), and McMurry (641).
Trinity's Kalen Vos tied for fifth place, with a second-round 74 (145), and Warren Taylor, at 75 (147), was in a tie for the No. 7 slot. Tyler Lehmann placed 13th with 72 (148), and Erik Long-Goheen, with a final-round 77 (155), was 25th.
Six Trinity golfers played as individuals: Felipe Benalcazar (26th place, 78 final round, 156 total), Eric Davis (tied for 27th, 75, 157), Scott Van Tilburg (tied for 30th, 80, 159), Blake Turner (40th, 88, 165), Eric Redeker (tied for 41st, 82, 166), and Austin Jung (tied for 46th, 83, 170).
