Trinity's Setiawan Leads Alamo City Classic; Tiger Team in Second Place

Spring Branch, Texas - Tiger golfer Geoffrey Setiawan led the Trinity-hosted Alamo City Classic after Monday's first round of the men's tournament at the River Crossing Golf Club, and the Trinity men's team is in second.
 
Setiawan shot a 4-under 68, and held a one-stroke lead over Texas-Tyler's Jacob Walsh (69), and was two strokes ahead of UT-Tyler's Austin Quinten.
 
The Tiger men shot a 287 at the par-72, 6,838-yard River Crossing Course, four strokes behind UT-Tyler (283). Schreiner (292) was in third place, and Southwestern (298) was fourth. McMurry and Texas Lutheran (305) were tied for fifth place. amd Concordia was sixth (316).
 
Three other Trinity golfers were in the top-20 standings: Kalen Vos (tied for fourth, 71), Warren Taylor (eighth, 72), and Tyler Lehmann (tied for 18th, 76). Erik Long-Goheen (78) was in a tie for 28th place.
 
Six Tigers were playing as individuals: Blake Turner (tied for 21st, 77), Felipe Benalcazar ( tied for 28th, 78), Scott Van Tilburg (tied for 33rd, 79), Eric Davis (tied for 39th, 82), Eric Redeker (tied for 44th, 84), and Austin Jung (tied for 47th, 87).
 
The tournament concludes Tuesday with the final round of action.
