Tigers Move to Fourth After Second Round of SCAC Championships
Tunica, Mississippi - Trinity's men's golf team moved up two spots to finish fourth after the second day of action at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday.
Trinity shot a 312 in very windy conditions at the Tunica National Golf Course. The Tigers posted the second-lowest score of the day, trailing tournament leader Oglethorpe by eight strokes in the second round.
Kalen Vos is currently tied for second individually, shooting a second-round 75 to follow his even-par 72 yesterday. He trails the leader by just four strokes.
Warren Taylor is tied for 16th with a 155 (78-77), while Felipe Benalcazar is tied for 23rd with his total score of 159 (79-80). Geoffrey Setiawan was affected by the wind more than any other Tiger player, falling from second to fifth on the team after today's round.
Overall, Trinity has a score of 618 in the tournament, trailing third place Birmingham-Southern by seven. Centre is currently in second with a total score of 607 for the weekend. The third and final round will be tomorrow.
