Trinity Golf Teams Conclude Jekyll Island Invitational on Sunday

Jekyll Island, Georgia - The Tiger men's and women's golf teams finished up the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational on Sunday, with the women finishing 14th, and Trinity's men finishing 21st.

Trinity's men's team improved their second-round score by seven strokes in the third round, shooting a combined 299 on the final day.  The women's team shot a combined 345 in the final round.  Both teams had two players shoot their best rounds of the tournament on Sunday.

In the men's tournament, Kalen Vos finished in a tie for 15th individually, shooting 74-72-73 in the three rounds.  The three scores posted by Vos were the three best of the weekend for the Tigers.

For the women, Madison Wallender finished with a weekend-best 80 in the third round, which was not just her best round of the weekend, but the team's best score for all three rounds.

Julia Orrange shot an 85 for the second straight day, holding Trinity's second-lowest score of the day.  Molly Zumbro shot 88 on Sunday, finishing second on the team.  Molly McCarthy (85-85-92) was tied with Orrange for third on the team, and Alessa Hutter (88-93-95) was fifth on the team.

Warren Taylor (78-74-76) was second on the team overall, while Tyler Lehmann shot a 74 on Sunday to finish third on the team for the weekend.  Geoffrey Setiawan (80-80-76) was fourth by just one stroke, while Erik Long-Goheen (81-83-82) rounded out Trinity's scoring.

Both Trinity teams will return to action in April at the West Region Invitational, hosted by Southwestern University.
