Trinity Women Finish Seventh at Lady Bulldog Fall Classic
Seguin, Texas - The Trinity Tigers women's golf team finished seventh Tuesday at the Lady Bulldog Fall Classic, hosted by Texas Lutheran at Starcke Park.
Trinity shot a 739 (383-356) in the 36-hole event, finishing ahead of Texas A&M International (812) and UT-Dallas (832). Mary Hardin-Baylor was the winner (639) and McMurry was runner-up (671). California-Santa Cruz was third (682), UT-Brownsville finished fourth (698) and Hardin-Simmons placed fifth (717). Host Texas Lutheran came in at No. 6 (732), seven strokes ahead of Trinity.
First-year Tiger player Lauren Holguin of San Antonio (Health Careers) stood alone at No. 24, shooting a second-round 90 (180 total). Senior Olivia Kotter of Copley, Ohio (Bond), tied for 25th place, registering an 85 (183 total). Anne Wooton, a senior from Baltimore (Friends School), played to a tie for 30th, with a 91 (186 total) and sophomore Julia Orrange of Georgetown, Texas (Georgetown), shot a 90 (191 total) and a tie for 36th place.
Trinity will compete Oct. 5-6 at the 36-hole UMHB (University of Mary Hardin-Baylor) Fall Intercollegiate, at the Wildflower Country Club in Temple, Texas.
