Women's Golf Fifth After Opening Round of Alamo City Classic
Spring Branch, Texas - The Trinity Tigers women's golf team stands in fifth place after the opening round Monday of their Alamo City Classic, at the par-72, 5,814-yard River Crossing Golf Club course.
Trinity shot a first-round 348 at the seven-team, 36-hole event. Southwestern is the team leader, at 315.
The Tigers' best performance of the day was by sophomore Julia Orrange, who shot a 6-over-par 78. Orrange holds fifth place at the tournament.
First-year golfer Lauren Holguin is in 21st place, with an 88. Senior Anne Wooton is tied for the No. 22 slot, at 89, and senior Olivia Kotter is in a tie for 28th, at 93. Senior Kaitlin Elsenheimer, playing as an individual, is also tied for 28th with a score of 93.
The final round begins Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
