Trinity Leading After Opening Round of Alamo City Classic

Spring Branch, Texas - The Trinity Tigers men are the team leaders after the first round of their Alamo City Classic, at the par-72, 6,797-yard River Crossing Golf Club course.

Trinity golfers shot a 4-under-par 284 Monday at the 36-hole, six-team event. Three Trinity players turned in under-par performances. The Tigers lead St. Mary's by two strokes, Texas-Brownsville by five, and Texas Lutheran by 14.

Tiger sophomore Ryan Barry fired a 3-under 69, and is in a six-way tie for first place.

Senior Nash Kassam and first-year golfer Warren Taylor each registered 1-under 71s, and are tied for seventh place, with two other golfers. First-year Geoffrey Setiawan made a 1-over 73 and is tied for 11th.

Sophomore Eric Davis, playing as an individual, is tied for 14th place, with a 3-over 75. Rounding out the leaders is senior golfer Peter Senior, at 4-over 76 and a tie for 18th place. Senior is also playing as an individual.

The final round begins at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
