Ben Robinson Records Five Tackles in Tazon de Estrellas All-Star Game

Puebla, Mexico - Trinity University Tigers senior linebacker Ben Robinson (Coppell, Texas/Coppell) registered five tackles Saturday with Team Stars & Stripes (NCAA Division III All-Stars) in the Tazón de Estrellas (Bowl of the Stars), against the Mexican All-Star Team.
 
The CONADEIP All-Stars beat their American counterparts 45-27 in front of a near-capacity crowd at El Tempo del Dolor (Temple of Pain). Team Stars & Stripes raced to an early 14-0 lead in the game, but the players from Mexico scored 38 unanswered points to to take control.
 
The 5-foot-11, 193-pound Robinson was the ninth Trinity player to compete in the U.S. vs. Mexico all-star game. Wide receiver Caleb Urban represented the Tigers in the 2010 tilt.
 
Robinson earlier was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year, and was elected to the D3football.com All-South Region Team. He led the SCAC in tackles for a loss (15.0 tackles, 44 yards). Robinson accounted for 93 total tackles (46 solo), three quarterback sacks, three forced fumbles, and two interceptions.
 
Trinity, led by head coach Steve Mohr, finished the regular season with a 10-0 record, the Tigers first undefeated campaign since 2005. The Tigers won their 15th SCAC Championship, and made a 12th appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament. McMurry beat Trinity 25-16 in the opening round of the playoffs, in a game played Nov. 19 at the Trinity University Football Stadium.
