Former Tiger Standout Named to D3football.com All-Decade Team

San Antonio - Former Trinity football and track & field star Jerheme Urban has been named to the D3football.com All-Decade Team, as announced by the Web site this week.

He was selected to the fourth team, and was one of just two Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference student-athletes to earn this recognition.

Urban was a standout wide receiver for the Tiger football team from 1999-02, finishing his career second in receiving yards and in receptions.  He was also a stellar kick returner, setting numerous single season and career records - though those have since been broken by younger brother, Caleb.

In track & field, Urban was a four-time SCAC Male Athlete of the Year, and remains the only student-athlete in conference history to hold that distinction.

Urban currently still holds records for the 400 meter dash and the triple jump, as well as leading all Tigers in total touchdowns scored in football.

Following his graduation from Trinity, he went on to play in the National Football League with the Seattle Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals, and his current team, the Kansas City Chiefs.  Urban played in the 2009 Super Bowl (XLIII) in Tampa, Florida.

Urban led Trinity to four SCAC Championships and four NCAA Playoff appearances in his four seasons, culminating in a trip to Stagg Bowl XXX in 2002.
