Chris Baer Earns a Spot on D3football.com Team of the Week

San Antonio - Trinity University Tigers senior running back Chris Baer of Shiner, Texas (Shiner), has received honors from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and d3football.com.

Baer was named to the d3football.com Team of the Week. He also was selected as SCAC Football Co-Offensive Player of the Week.

The 6-foot, 205-pound Baer was instrumental in the Tigers' 44-10 SCAC victory over Austin College in the season finale last Saturday in Sherman, Texas.

Baer rushed for 139 yards on 23 carries, and scored two touchdowns. He also snagged seven passes for 85 yards and a touchdown, for 224 all-purpose yards.

He became the eighth player in Tiger history to score 200 or more points in a career, and he is in the top 10 in every career rushing category at Trinity.

This season, Baer had 822 rushing yards on 137 attempts, and seven touchdowns. As a receiver, Baer snagged 21 passes for 251 yards and two touchdowns, finishing with 1,073 all-purpose yards.

He has led the team in rushing and in touchdowns scored for three consecutive seasons, earning All-SCAC honors each of the past two seasons.  This year's All-SCAC team has yet to be announced.
