Chris Baer Earns SCAC Honor for Second Straight Week
San Antonio - Trinity University Tigers senior running back Chris Baer of Shiner, Texas (Shiner), has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week.
The 6-foot, 205-pound Baer was instrumental in the Tigers' 44-10 end-of-the-season SCAC victory over Austin College last Saturday in Sherman, Texas.
Baer rushed for 139 yards on 23 carries, and scored two touchdowns. He also snagged seven passes for 85 yards and a touchdown, for 224 all-purpose yards.
He became the eighth player in Tiger history to score 200 or more points in a career.
This season, Baer had 822 rushing yards on 137 attempts, and seven touchdowns. As a receiver, Baer snagged 21 passes for 251 yards and two touchdowns, finishing with 1,073 all-purpose yards.
The Tigers completed the campaign with a 7-3 overall record, and were 4-2 in SCAC play, tied for third place.
