Senior Pitcher Ben Klimesh

Pitcher Ben Klimesh returns for his senior season in 2012, having led the Tigers to two SCAC Championships and two NCAA Regional Tournaments in 2009 and 2010.

Klimesh was the 2011 SCAC Co-Pitcher of the Year after finishing 10-2 with a 3.42 ERA during the season.  He pitched in 18 games for the Tigers, tossing 81.2 innings, and recording 103 strikeouts.  Opponents hit just .214 against Klimesh during the season.

He has led the team in strikeouts each of the past two seasons, and is the first player to earn that distinction since Mike Frost led the Tigers in K's from 2002-04.

Klimesh's 103 strikeouts were the fifth-most in Trinity history for a single season, and he also became just the 10th player in school history to record his 200th career strikeout during the year.

In 2012, Klimesh is poised to break a record that has stood for nearly 40 years.  With nine wins this upcoming season, Klimesh will pass Trinity Hall of Famer Mickey Mahler's 28 total victories from 1971-74.  He also needs just 89 strikeouts to become the third player to reach 300 in a career.
