San Antonio - Trinity leads the fall standings of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Presidents’ Trophy.
The Presidents’ Trophy is a 300-pound railroad bell awarded to the best overall program in the eight-team conference. During the fall season, the Tigers captured SCAC Championships in men’s and women’s cross country, and men’s and women’s soccer. Trinity finished as runner-up in the volleyball competition.
The Tigers have amassed 180 points based on the fall standings of the prestigious trophy. Trinity currently has a 57.5-points lead over Texas Lutheran University.
Last May, Trinity won the Presidents’ Trophy, after the year-long points were tabulated. Tiger teams finished the season with 547.5 points, outdistancing second-place Southwestern (TX) University by 125 points.
Under the leadership of Director of Athletics Bob King, Trinity set a conference record by winning the “Bell” for the 17th time. The Tigers also maintained possession of the trophy for the sixth consecutive year.
