San Antonio - Trinity University led the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Spring All-Academic Honor Roll with 141 honorees.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.25 GPA, and be a regular member of a sport sponsored by the conference.
Tiger women's track & field led the spring sports accolades with 22 student-athletes, followed closely by women's swimming & diving with 21. Baseball produced 18 recipients to lead the men, while men's track & field had 15 on the honor roll.
Women's basketball had 10 members on the academic list, followed by women's tennis (nine), softball (eight), and women's golf (five). Men's basketball and men's swimming and diving each accounted for 11 student-athletes, men's tennis had six, and men's golf amassed five.
Trinity, led by Director of Athletics Bob King, received a final ranking of No. 22 in the nation (among nearly 450 institutions) in the prestigious Learfield Sports Directors' Cup NCAA Division III standings. Points are determined by NCAA postseason competition.
The Tigers also won the SCAC President's Trophy as the best overall program in the conference for the second straight year. It marked a conference-record 13th time Trinity sports captured the coveted railroad bell.
