Trinity Leads SCAC in Spring Honor Roll Recipients
San Antonio - Trinity University placed 128 student-athletes on the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll, leading all conference schools.
To be eligible for the honor roll, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.25 grade point average, and be a regular member of a team.
There were a total of 213 Tiger student-athletes that earned a spot on the SCAC Honor Roll during the 2010-11 school year. That number is tied for the most of any SCAC school over the past season.
The Tiger baseball team had the most honorees (18), followed closely be men's track & field and women's track & field (17 each). Men's and women's swimming and diving combined for 28 student-athletes on the list (16 men's and 12 women's).
Other sports included in the total were men's and women's basketball, softball, men's and women's tennis, and men's and women's golf.
Women's swimming & diving won the SCAC Championship for the eighth consecutive time this past season, while baseball and men's tennis secured conference titles in the spring.
Men's Tennis advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals for the second straight season, earning Trinity's best team finish of the 2010-11 year. Baseball won the conference title and advanced to the NCAA Regional Tournament for the second straight season.
