• Trinity's first player to reach the National Football League.
• Played for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1949 through 1953.
• Selected for NFL First Team All-Pro Defense.
• As a Tiger, named Honorable Mention Little All-American and First Team All-Lone Star Conference as a defensive guard.
• Played two years at Baylor University before transferring to Trinity.
• Coached 20 years in Texas high school football and track, at Eagle Pass, Donna, Kermit and McAllen.
